How Truvon works, how to add it to your assistant, and what to do when something goes wrong.
About Truvon
What is Truvon?
A record of U.S. businesses built for AI assistants. When you ask Claude or ChatGPT to find a plumber, a caterer, or a dentist, the assistant can check Truvon for which businesses are open, the phone and address their sources agree on, what each one offers in its own words, and how to book, order, or call. Every fact shows where it came from and when it was last confirmed.
Does it cost anything?
No. Searching is free for people and for assistants, and needs no account. Businesses can list for free; an optional plan for business owners is how Truvon earns.
Can a business pay to show up first?
No. No listing is paid or sponsored, and owners cannot set where they appear.
What does Truvon keep about me?
Very little. A search is kept with the need and the town, never with your name, email, phone, or IP address. Connecting your assistant creates an anonymous connection id; there is no account. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I add Truvon to Claude?
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector, and paste https://truvon.ai/mcp. A Truvon page opens: click Allow. That is all: no account, email, or password. Then ask Claude for a business, such as "find a furnace repair company near Kirkwood, MO."
How do I add Truvon to ChatGPT?
Add Truvon as an app with the address https://truvon.ai/mcp/openai (custom apps need developer mode, turned on in ChatGPT's settings), then click Allow on the Truvon page that opens. Once Truvon is in ChatGPT's app directory, you will be able to add it from there instead.
What does clicking Allow do?
It lets your assistant tell Truvon how things went after it acts for you: whether the booking worked, whether the business called back. Those reports are how Truvon learns which businesses deliver. Searching works without it.
How do I disconnect?
Remove Truvon in your assistant's connector or app settings. The connection stops working at once.
Troubleshooting
My assistant says it cannot reach Truvon, or does not use it.
Check that the Truvon connector is turned on for this chat (in Claude, the tools menu in the message box). Then ask by name: "use Truvon to find..." If it still fails, remove the connector and add it again.
It says I need to connect before it can report.
Ask your assistant to connect Truvon. It gives you a link; open it and click Allow. Searching never needs this step.
The results are in the wrong town.
Give the town with its state, such as "Springfield, IL", or a ZIP code. A town name alone can match several places.
A business's hours, phone, or open or closed status is wrong.
Tell us: contact us and name the business and town. If it is your business, check your business to see what assistants see and fix it.
